Privacy Policy
Sasshey is built around anonymity: shoppers see your pieces, never you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you control.

What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: email address, display name, password (stored only as a salted hash), and optional two-step sign-in settings.
- Closet data: item photos, descriptions, brand, size, condition, purchase price and date, storage locations, and notes you add.
- Imports: purchase or sales history files you upload from other platforms.
- Marketplace activity: interest nudges, offers, messages, orders and the shipping name and address you provide at checkout.
- Waitlist: the email address you give us to request early access.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data such as IP address, browser or app version, pages viewed and timestamps, used for security and to keep the service working.
- A sign-in cookie and a refresh cookie that keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To run your closet: store, organize and display your items and photos to you and the household members you invite.
- To fill in item details automatically. Photos you add may be sent to an AI vision provider to suggest brand, category, color and condition. Photos are not used to train those models.
- To power anonymous discovery: show your discoverable items to other members without your name, location or the rest of your closet.
- To complete transactions: deliver offers and messages, process payment, and share the shipping name and address with the seller only after an order is paid.
- To keep the platform safe: detect fraud, enforce the contact-information filter, and protect accounts.
- To send transactional email such as sign-in codes, password resets and interest notifications. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
What other members see
Discovery shows your public item photos (watermarked, with location metadata removed) and item details under your anonymous username. Your real name, email, home and storage locations are never shown. After an order is paid, the seller sees the buyer’s shipping name and address, and nothing else.
Who we share with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that host and operate Sasshey on our behalf: Microsoft Azure for hosting, database and photo storage in the United States, Azure Communication Services for email, an AI vision provider for photo analysis, and a payment processor for checkout. Each is bound to use your data only to provide its service to us.
- Other members, only as described above and only to the extent needed to complete a transaction you chose to enter.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect the safety of our members.
Your controls
- Hide any item from discovery, or your whole closet, at any time from the item panel.
- Edit or delete items, photos and your account from Settings. Deleting your account removes your closet and personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep for completed transactions.
- Turn two-step sign-in on or off, and sign out other devices by changing your password.
- Export your closet as a CSV at any time.
- Request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us through the contact form. Residents of California and the EU have additional rights under the CCPA and GDPR, which we honor regardless of where you live.
Retention and security
We keep your data while your account is active. Access tokens expire after one hour and are renewed with a revocable refresh token; passwords are hashed with bcrypt; all traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and two-step sign-in.
Children
Sasshey is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
We will post updates here and change the date above; for material changes we will email account holders first. Questions about privacy can be sent through the contact form. See also our Terms of Service.
